Bill and Roy caught over 60 very large Hybrid Bass this week. After splitting it in half and then taking a large portion of our half to our Amish friends, I still needed to figure out what to do with what remained. Our freezer was already stocked with Catfish they had caught this year so I decided to try canning much of it. I learned you can fish only in pint jars. I am guessing due to the density of it. So, I have 9 pints in the canner right now. To add to that we have put up about 18 dinner portions in the freezer. Last, but not least, I have two dinner potions in the refrigerator to do something with this week. I am thinking a good chowder, which is one of our favorites, but adding bacon and potatoes in this time. For the other, I am going to try cornbread/fish patties. Will have to share how these come out in a later post. No more fish this year, please!
